How can I see if a file is safe to open or download?

Modified on Wed, 29 Apr at 11:25 AM

With Mediabriz Guard enabled, every file shows a status icon so you can instantly understand if it’s safe.

What each status means

? Clean - Safe File

The file was scanned and no threats were found.
✔ You can preview, download, and use the file safely.

? Infected - Threat Detected

A security threat was found in the file.
❌ The file is completely blocked and cannot be opened or downloaded.

Pending - Scanning in Progress

The file is still being scanned.
⏳ Access is temporarily blocked until the scan is complete.

? Unscannable - Scan Not Supported

The file cannot be scanned (for example: protected or unsupported format).
⚠️ Access is blocked because the file cannot be verified as safe.

? Error - Scan Failed

The scan could not be completed due to a technical issue.
⚠️ The system will retry automatically. Access remains blocked until resolved.

What this means for you

  • You always know the file status at a glance
  • Only verified safe files can be used
  • Risky or unknown files are automatically blocked

? Green = safe. Gray = scanning. Anything else = restricted
